We lost Rik Mayall.
He was only 56 years old.
Rik was maybe best known for his role in the 1980s British comedy series 'The Young Ones',
but he also played many, many other roles throughout his career.
I was a terribly small child when 'The Young Ones' originally aired, and didn't actually see (or even know about) the show until a full two decades later, but I was immediately fascinated and amused and confused and enamored by it.
Rik was my favorite flatmate from the get-go.
